For Dean Baker, pools have always been a family business.
Dean’s grandfather began the family tradition with Blair Pools in South Glens Falls, New York. In the late 1960s, Dean’s father took over the business and renamed it Bob Baker Pools.
Dean grew up around the pool business, first riding in the trucks with his grandfather and later working alongside his father. From an early age, he learned the skills of the swimming pool industry along with the importance of hard work, doing the job right, and standing behind your work.
Over the years, Dean worked across nearly every side of the industry, from swimming pool construction and his father’s pool store to pool distribution and serving as an assistant branch manager.
That background eventually brought Dean to Florida, where he has owned and operated Baker Pools Inc. in Jacksonville since 2010, carrying the Baker family tradition into another generation.
